Iya Affo
Iya Affo is the founder of Heal Historical Trauma, a Culturalist, and a Western-certified Trauma Specialist whose lifelong work bridges indigenous healing traditions and neurobiology. Descended from a lineage of spiritual and physical healers with heritage spanning West Africa and the Caribbean, she integrates over 35 years of client experience with formal certifications in models like Dr. Bruce Perry's Neurosequential Model for Caregiving, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and Native American-based trauma programs. Having lived, studied, and collaborated with indigenous, Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist, and Native American communities across more than 30 countries, Iya is an international speaker, author, and educator who advocates for the harmonization of Traditional and Western medicine to cultivate holistic healing, reculturing, and resilience for disempowered populations worldwide.
